"I am delighted and thankful for the opportunity to be a recipient of the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Advisory Board scholarship. There aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am. Joining the program and getting to know and work/intern with the Advisory Board members for the past few years has prepared me with their mentorship for the Hospitality industry. I thank everyone who makes this scholarship possible as it helps students like me ease the financial burden of college. This scholarship will help me pursue my education at UNLV’s Harrah’s College of Hospitality with hopes of working within the management side of the hospitality industry. "It is a great honor to be selected to receive the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Advisory Board Scholarship. When I first got the news, I was so surprised and ecstatic as I am grateful to use this scholarship to help continue my passion. To receive this scholarship wouldn’t have been possible without you, my educators, friends, and family who’ve supported me along the way. The AOHT program has taught me so much in so many amazing ways, not just as a student but as a person to be ready to achieve bigger and brighter in the future. As well as giving students wonderful opportunities to build connections and be more prepared to find careers. Coming from a harsh background, this scholarship takes a huge weight off my shoulders and reassures me I can accomplish my goals. I am always ready to participate and help wherever possible and will continue to do so when attending college. I plan on majoring in business and using what I’ve been taught in AOHT to pursue my dreams. Thank you again for the opportunity and for supporting students like me in pursuing higher education to find their passion."
